Consultation Services

Initial Telehealth Consult ($290)

This is a two-part consultation. The first part is a one-hour history gathering session, where I welcome you to share your story and we will review your medical records. The second part will be approximately a week after, where we discuss and compile an individualized plan.

Follow-up Telehealth Consult ($100)

This option is for established patients for follow-up care or pre-operative/post-operative support. I am here for you every step of the way as part of your healthcare team and hope to establish a long-term relationship to help manage your disease.

My Approach

Comprehensive Care

Your consultation always includes a comprehensive plan. You will leave your visit with a deeper understanding of your symptoms and clear objectives. If applicable, it may include appropriate test orders for imaging or bloodwork, referrals to other team members, and medication prescriptions (non-controlled substances only). *I have no financial ties to any practitioners or supplements.

Empathy and Support

Empathy forms the foundation of my approach. Endometriosis is a highly emotional, complex, whole-body disease. I provide a compassionate and inclusive environment where you will feel heard, validated, and supported throughout your health journey.

Tailored Guidance

I offer tailored guidance to every patient. Since no two people will have the same experience with endometriosis, therefore my recommendations are individualized for each person.

Patient Stories

"I have never felt so seen, heard, supported like I do with Joana. For 10+ years I have felt so alone with this silent and mysterious illness until I connected with Joana. Her advice/tips/even recipes have been a tremendous help. I am preparing for life-changing surgery and feel less nervous and better prepared because of Joana's support. She has made me feel less alone in navigating my endometriosis diagnosis, and seeing a way I can live without being chained to painful chronic illness. I wish I had gone to her sooner as I now have a better handle on lessening/managing my symptoms and those painful flare ups. Thank you so much Joana for everything!"

Common Questions

Why don't you take insurance?

I often get asked why I don’t bill insurance directly. The honest answer is that working outside of the insurance system allows me to give you the kind of care that people with endometriosis actually need.

Insurance companies tend to cover only short visits, a limited set of treatments, and approaches that fit into their billing codes. Endometriosis care rarely fits neatly into those boxes. It requires time, listening, and a personalized, holistic plan that often blends gynecology, lifestyle, integrative medicine, mental health, and rehabilitation. When I work within insurance constraints, I’m forced to cut corners—rushing through visits, avoiding topics not “covered,” or recommending only what an insurer will pay for rather than what’s best for you. That isn’t the kind of care I believe in.

By operating outside of insurance, I can:

  • Spend the time needed to hear your full story (not just the “chief complaint”).

  • Create truly individualized care plans, including integrative and lifestyle approaches.

  • Stay transparent—no surprise denials, hidden fees, or wasted money on unnecessary labs.

  • Focus on you and what works, not what a billing code dictates.

That said, I will provide you with a detailed “superbill” after each visit. This is a receipt you can submit to your insurance company for potential out-of-network reimbursement, depending on your plan. Many patients are able to get partial reimbursement this way, and you can also use HSA/FSA funds.

My priority is making sure you feel listened to, understood, and supported. Staying independent from insurance is what makes that possible.

How can I schedule a consultation?

You can easily book a telehealth appointment through the scheduling button below. If you need schedule accommodations or if you have any questions, please reach out through email: joana@endometriosiscollective.com

I use a HIPAA compliant software called simplepractice.

I currently can only see patients who are located in the state of California (I plan on opening up to patients in New York soon).

What to expect during a consultation?

Before our first visit, you’ll complete a questionnaire and can share any prior medical records. The initial appointment focuses on gathering your history, and a few days to a week later we’ll meet again to review the disease process and create a personalized plan that fits your life.

I am also always here for follow-up visits to adjust the plan.
